Recharged and re-energized, re-elected president of the public workers’ union says he is ready to continue PWU’s work.

Re-elected for a second term in office, President of the Public Workers Union Brian Grimes says he is enthused going into the next two years.

Looking back at the previous two years, the PWU president told GBN’s news desk, he is proud of the strides made thus far in terms of accomplishments, however, he could not have done it all by himself.

He expressed his gratitude to all members and staff of the PWU family who championed the cause for pension restoration among other issues.

Charting the way forward, the PWU president emphasized some of the areas he will be focusing on; such as building the infrastructure of the PWU, as well as getting the participation of all members.

The post of president and Treasurer were up for grabs, however following the election on Thursday, March 16th. Grimes was re-elected President amassing a total of 428 points.

Paula L.L. Phillip was elected Treasurer. Other positions such as PRO, Secretary, and Assistant Secretary, went in unopposed.

He is optimistic that the composition of the new executive augurs well for the organization and its membership.
