Efforts at fostering generational knowledge transfer were made today.

This came with the observance of World Customs Day.

Today, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), announced that this year’s International Customs Day (ICD) will be celebrated under the slogan: “Nurturing the Next Generation: Promoting a Culture of Knowledge-sharing and Professional Pride in Customs”.

In keeping with the theme,  The students and staff of the River View School celebrated  International Customs Day with the division through songs and poems. They were gifted with a plaque of appreciation for their hard work and a card made by the students.

The division provided the students with snack as a means of showing appreciation to them for their initiative.

The global Customs community has been invited to implement the theme throughout this year and beyond and reflect on how best to support newly-recruited officers, facilitate the sharing of knowledge, and heighten the sense of pride in being part of  the global Customs community.

While the International Customs Day is celebrated annually on 26 January, this year, this date is even more special as it marks the 70th Anniversary of the World Customs Organisation
