Welcome Stone overlooks the Levera National Park and is now one of the most visited spots by locals and visitors alike, according to tourism officials.

But it seems the area is now attracting criminal activities, as law enforcement has confirmed that there have been a few incidences of attempted robberies in the area.

In the most recent case, last Wednesday, a man dressed in a wig and female attire, armed with a cutlass, attacked a couple who was visiting the area.

However no injuries were reported.

Parliamentary Representative for St Patrick East Pamela Moses says they are aware of this development and are keeping an eye on it.

She says they are working with the Grenada Tourism Authority, to secure, improve and develop the site.

The welcome stone overlooks the 450-acre Levera National Park, which is home to a range of exotic bird species.

Visitors to the area say on a sunny day from Welcome Stone, one can view close to nine different islands, including Sugar Loaf Island, Green and Sandy Islands.
