Work estimated to cost over nine hundred thousand dollars commenced on the third phase of the St. George market square project
This phase of the project will bring a level of comfort to vendors who provide vegetables
The third phase of the project will focus on the construction of suitable stalls for vegetable vendors in the market.
The first stage of the work started on November 16th and is expected to be completed in late 2021.
Permanent Secretary in the ministry of infrastructure development, Mrs Merina Jessamy said the project is in the hands of local contractor Rayan Murrel.
PS Jessamy explains that the new structure is one that will create a more welcoming and attractive environment for customers and vendors.
Discussions were held between vendors, stakeholders and the ministry to ensure a collaborative decision on the project.
