Health officials on Tuesday received 17,000 doses of covid-19 vaccine – AstraZeneca.
Health Minister Nickolas Steele was at the Maurice Bishop International Airport and spoke with the media. He said Grenada will give back to its neighbouring countries when its share of vaccines is received.
The health minister said this time no one will be turned away while priority remains on vaccinating frontline workers.
He said that while the vaccine is free of cost to citizens, Government had to contribute as part of the OECS combined effort to pay US$250,000 for transportation of the vaccines from India.
