World vaccination Week in the Americas is celebrated in the last week of April and aims to highlight the collective action needed and to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against diseases.

This year’s campaign comes at an especially critical time as the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted essential health services, including routine immunization, setting back progress by more than a decade.

World vaccination or Immunization Week will be celebrated from April 23rd to the 30th in Grenada under the Theme Are you vaccinated? Get all your shots.

Audrey Lyons, Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunization in the ministry of health outlined some activities planned for the event this year

Several community activities are also planned to educate the nation on Vaccination.

She also spoke of the importance of vaccination not just for COVID-19 but against other diseases.
