The 59th inauguration of the 46th president of the united states was marked by the absence of the outgoing president donald trump who became the first to break tradition by not attending the ceremony.
Outgoing vice president Mike Pence was however present as were former presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George Bush.
Joe Biden becomes the oldest president while Kamala Harris also created history by becoming the first female and first person of color vice president of the united states.
