Magistrate Karen Noel died early Sunday morning at her home in Independence Avenue, St. George reportedly after a brief illness.
She served as Magistrate of the St. David and Sauteurs Magistrate’s courts.
She was admitted to the Bar on September 1st, 1995. After spending a few years in private practice, she entered the magistracy where she served for at least 15 years.
Legal Affairs Minister for Kindra Mathurine Stewart paid tribute to her today, saying that Miss Noel, demonstrated an unwavering commitment to duty and was extremely respectful to all.
The Grenada Bar Association also issued a statement today.
Members recalled her dignified demeanor and the even-handed way in which she dealt with Prosecutors and Defense Counsel alike and her courtesy to all members of the public who entered the courts.
