The Dorothy Hopkins centre for the disabled in Tempe St. George got a much-needed boost from a charitable organization

One organization saw it necessary to outfit the center with three solar water heaters.

The Dorothy Hopkin Center was gifted with three solar water heaters, made possible through the generosity of The Rotary Club of Barnaby, British Columbia.

The presentation was made on Monday by members of the local club.

Member of the Club Mr. Henry Joseph said the total project can cost in excess of sixty thousand dollars in both cash and kind.

Initially, one water heater served the entire center which houses about twenty-six residents as well as staff.

Mr. Adolphus Daniel will be the supervisor and engineer for the project and explains that the scope of work will entail, installation of the solar panels.

Daniel gave the assurance that the heaters will be installed to withstand any weather condition \ system. He said this is just one of other assistance promised by The Rotary Club of Barnaby.

A wall around the center is another area he said they intend to address soon.

Chairperson on the Board of directors for the Centre Mrs. Catherine Ann John welcomed the donation, noting its timeliness.
