The Grenada Red Cross Society partnered with local supermarket suppliers to provide grocery shopping vouchers to 210 families in Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
The vouchers, each valued at $200XCD, enable the recipient to purchase items of their choosing directly at partnered supermarkets. The suppliers will also provide each recipient with substantial discounts when the voucher is redeemed.
The supermarket partners were selected after the society issued a call-for-partnerships to multiple suppliers across the island. The Real Value IGA and The Food Fair were selected as partners as both companies generously agreed to provide discounts, to further increase the purchasing power of the recipients.
The initiative is being executed through the society’s Cash and Voucher Assistance program which is funded by the International Federation of Red Cross Global Appeal.
This program is only one of many earmarked by the society for 2021.
