Over 300 staff and students of the St Georges University got vaccinated on Friday as part of the first steps towards the University reopening its campus facilities for the resumption of in-person learning come August 2021.

SGU says its leadership has considered all aspects of a safe return, placing priority on the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff on campus and that of the Grenadian community.

Some of the faculty, staff, and students after vaccination on Friday spoke of the initiative and the importance of taking the vaccine

Following the request by the school for all persons entering campus to be vaccinated, there were several concerns raised about whether or not the school was acting within its jurisdiction.

A protest was organized to be held at the front gate of the school on Friday 23rd April, the first day of vaccination on campus, however, the turnout was not as anticipated.
