As the Grenadian community prepares for its annual Easter weekend filled with kite flying and family fun days, the Grenada Airports Authority is reminding the general public, that the flying of kites within the vicinity of the airport is prohibited.

While the authority understands that kite flying is a tradition that many look forward to around this time, Air Traffic Control Supervisor Hernel Panchoo explains that flying kites in certain areas poses a serious threat to aircraft safety.

The Air Traffic Control Supervisor says the Airports Authority will be seeking the assistance of the Royal Grenada Police Force in dealing with violators of this notice.

The Grenada Airports Authority urges the general public to cooperate towards ensuring the safety of aircraft operations into and out of the Maurice Bishop International Airport.
