The Government of Grenada is advising the general public of new policy guidelines for visiting elderly persons who are institutionalised in homes across the country.

Visits are now permitted for fully vaccinated persons, whose elderly relatives are also vaccinated.

Persons who are not vaccinated will be required to sign a waiver, relieving the Government or private home administrators of any liability, in the event of potential transmission of COVID-19.

In recognition of the susceptibility of older persons to COVID-19, restrictions were placed on visits to elderly homes as part of lockdown measures instituted in March 2020.

There are 10 Government-owned and privately run elderly homes across the country.
