The GUT president also hinted that this is his final stint as president of the union.

Grenada Union of Teachers President Marvin Andall will not be seeking re-election come next Wednesday.

Andall led the organization for the past year. He took over the presidency from the then-president Lydon Lewis who tendered his resignation in January 2020.

Being the first vice president then, Andall assumed the position as president.

This is not Andalls’ only stint as president. He served for eight years from 2001 to 2009.

His reason for his decision is that of a personal nature coupled with his job and union duties becoming over whelming for him.

He hopes to continue to share his expertise with the new leadership.

As Andall prepares to exit the presidential chair, he highlighted his most notable achievement during his stint as president.

Jude Bartholomew and Connie Mc Quilkin are both nominees for the GUT Presidency.

There are a few things Andall says he wishes were better internally in the union such as more vibrancy within branches.
