One man has been charged with the offence of Child Stealing by Unlawfully detaining a female person ten years of age.
This is yet another development in the story involving a ten-year-old female who was first reported in the media as missing on November 1st.
She reportedly left her home on Tuesday 21st October 2023.
Police subsequently notified the public that the child was found on Saturday 4th November 2023 at Concord, St. John.
Despite the name and picture of the child being posted in the media as part of the missing child report, GBN cannot at this stage use the identity of the child in this report.
In a press release issued today. Police say Delon Gludd, a 37 year old, Carpenter of Thebaide, St. David was arrested and charged by officers attached to the Special Victims’ Unit for the offence of Child Stealing by Unlawfully detaining a female person ten years of age.
Police say the offence was committed on October 28th, 2023.
Gludd was granted bail in the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00ecc) with one surety. He was unable to secure bail and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison until March 8th, 2024.
