Work is well on the way as it relates to the completion of the La Borie main road.

Despite public concerns about the lengthy delay in the completion of the road project, ministry officials say they are pleased with the work done so far. they are also encouraging the contractors to expedite the long-awaited completion of the project.

Minister for work Dennis Cornwall says that he is pleased to see the progress on the La Borie main road, which also serves Hopevale in St George.

In late August 2020, the road was closed to vehicular traffic, after years of complaints by residents about the deplorable condition of the road in the area.

In 2022, the project was on a go slow as contractors and the ministry of works had to review the details of the project.

Today Minister Cornwall visited the site to see a large portion completed.

The project was contracted to Handover Construction services based in Trinidad. Richard Maharaj director of construction and Operations at Hanover construction company says the hope is to complete in work by April 2023.

Philip Telesford MP for the area also visited the site and expressed happiness with the progress. He reassured residents of the areas that they are working tirelessly to see the competition of the project.
