After four years of serving as chief executive officer of Spice Mas Corporation (SMC), Mr. Kelvin Jacob will return to his job within the ministry of education.
Chief Executive Officer of Spicemas Corporation (SMC), Mr. Kelvin Jacob, has opted out of a contract renewal with the Corporation.
The Department of Culture in the Ministry of Education Youth Sports and Culture in a press release issued early Friday states that it has received official correspondence from Mr. Jacob.
He will officially depart the Corporation, effective March 10th, 2023.
The release states that during his four (4) years with the SMC, Mr. Jacob built upon the past successes of the organization and worked diligently with his team to improve the day-to-day operations of the SMC.
Mr. Jacob joined the Corporation in February 2019 on secondment from the Ministry of Education and therefore will return to his substantive position with the Ministry of Education.
Jacob was an appointed teacher in the public service as the Vice Principal of Presentation Brothers’ College before his appointment in 2019 as CEO of the SMC.
He obtained a Master of Arts in Carnival Studies at the University of Trinidad and Tobago; a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at St George’s University and an Associate of Arts at Lake-Sumter State College. He also achieved a Certificate in Teaching Program at the TA Marryshow Community College.
GBN sought to get a comment from Jacob on his decision not to accept a renewal of his contract, he said there was no need to comment on the matter as he stands by the release issued by the ministry.
