Grenada welcomed JetBlue’s inaugural flight to the destination on Saturday, with a ceremony at the Maurice Bishop International Airport.

JetBlue Flight JBU2153 departed the Boston Logan International Airport on  November 4 and arrived at the MBIA, just around 12:40 pm, with a Grenadian delegation onboard.

Speaking on the arrival of the airline, Minister for Economic Development, Planning, ICT, Tourism and the Creative Economy Lennox Andrews said this moment marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to increase airlift and boost the tourism industry. Minister Andrews pledged to work diligently to develop a resilient and sustainable industry for the benefit of Grenadians

Daniel Blake, Director of operations said it’s a very exciting day for Jet Blue.

Chief Executive Officer at the Grenada Tourism Authority Petra Roach said a lot of work has been done to bring this additional gateway to the US to fruition. The CEO said a lot of emphasis is being placed on building on Grenada’s tourism product.
