One month after government repurchased WRB shares in GRENLEC at the cost of us$63 million answers are still being sought over the details from the source of funds.

Labor senator Andre Lewis is calling for accountability from the government as he says itemized details about the actual source of the funds to purchase GRENLEC shares from WRB still haven’t been provided.

During a press briefing that followed the purchase of the shares in December 2020, finance minister Gregory Bowen gave the assurance that the money did not come from any third party; but from the government’s financial sources, including the capital side of the 2020 budget.
