The launch of Spice Mas 2023 is less than one month away and government is anticipating another stellar execution of the world renowned event.

With the recent appointment of Mr. Cecil Noel as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Spice Mas Corporation and the official launch of Carnival on the horizon, several improvements are anticipated for Grenada’s biggest festival.

In an exclusive interview with GBN on Wednesday, Minister for Culture Ron Redhead, highlighted one of the developments to be expected for this years’ event.

The culture minister says one such improvement that they have already made is to ensure that the queen, once successful, can benefit from a scholarship to further their studies.

Government has long term plans to boost the carnival product, through private-public partnership with stakeholders.

He says traditional mas has lost its way and that’s why government has decided to enter into a public private partnership.

The public and stakeholders can expect an update soon on incentives and the forward mobility Spicemas.

The official launch of Spicemas 2023 is carded for Friday, April 28, at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium.
