The government of Grenada in collaboration with its stakeholders launched a week of activities to mark the 2023 ICT week. training and capacity-building activities come in the form of a business forum.

‘Investing in the digital future today’, is the theme under which ICT week is taking place.

ICT week was officially launched on Tuesday 28th February at the Grenada Trade Center, where the forums will be held.

One of the featured speakers on day two of the event was Minister for Economic Development and Planning, ICT, and the Arts Lennox Andrews. He believes governments role in the Economy should be mainly that of a facilitator and a regulator.

He added that of equal importance, government must ensure that its citizens are knowledgeable, skilled, and well-equipped to be able to participate and function at optimum levels in the digital environment.

ICT week aims to provide a platform for Grenadians to engage with experts from the regional and international tech industry to discuss how they can better leverage technology to create employment and accelerate economic growth.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell in his remarks said the initiative aligns well with his government’s social and economic development agenda.

Grenada ICT Week is a significant event for Grenada as well as the Caribbean, as it provides a valuable opportunity for companies operating in the ICT sector to network and exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices; which in turn promotes business growth and development in the region.

The activities which commenced on Monday 27th February will end on Friday 3rd March 2023.

It is organized by the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce in collaboration with the Grenada National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC), the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG), and the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN).
