The family of a 4 year old child is asking for public assistance to undertake surgery that will help alleviate agony and allow a young girl to walk properly.

This is 4 year old Hope St Louis Of La Borie St Paul’s, due to her condition, Hope is no longer able to play, run, and walk as she wants, as her feet continue to swell with severe pain after being active for long periods of time.

Hope suffers from a medical issue termed “Toe Walking” explained as a pattern of walking in which a child walks on balls of his or her feet, with no contact between the heels and ground. Toe walking is common in children who are learning to walk. After the age of 2, however, most children outgrow toe walking and begin to walk with a normal heel-to-toe pattern.

However Hope has been walking on her toes all her life but as she grows older her condition worsens; her family was medically advised that surgery is the only solution.

Kitisha Lewis says her granddaughter has overcome many trials over the past four years as she was born a premature baby.

Family and friends have come together to raise some of the finance needed to pay for the surgery but they are still far from their MARK.

Lewis told GBN that despite her challenges, young Hope continues to endure.

Anyone willing to help 4 year old HOPE can contact Ms. Lewis on 440-0237.
