The Grand Roy Government School copped the 1st place position of the Grenada Co-operative Nutmeg Association anniversary school quiz.

The quiz which marked the 75th anniversary of GCNA, held its finals on Thursday 26th January 2023 at the deluxe cinema,

Grenville.Capturing the Nutmeg Supremacy Title on Thursday 26th January 2023 was the Grand Roy Government school. Uganda Martyrs Catholic School was in second place and St. Giles Anglican School in Third.

As part of its 75th Anniversary Celebration, the Grenada Co-operative Nutmeg Association held an Anniversary School Quiz for Primary school students around the island.

Chairperson of the anniversary committee Matthew Joseph says the hope is to develop the competition into an annual anniversary event.

Joseph says that the competition is not just about losing and winning but educating.

Fifteen schools participated in the quiz throughout their districts with only seven finalists emerging from the semifinal round.

The Remaining finalists, St. Andrew’s Methodist school, St. David’s Catholic school, St. Patrick’s Catholic school, and St. Andrew’s Catholic along with other participating schools were gifted with participation prizes.

Chairperson of GCNA Leo Cato applauded the teachers involved in preparing the students for the competition.
