Former Commissioner of Police Fitzroy Bedeau passed away last Friday at the General Hospital.

This was confirmed by a member of the Community Relations Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force.

Bedeau served as commissioner of the Royal Grenada Police Force from 1998 until 2005; one year after dealing with the effects of Hurricane Ivan.

Commissioner Bedeau subsequently handed over the leadership of the Force to Winston James.

GBN spoke to Acting Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin who expressed sadness on Bedeau’s passing.

Martin said that the Royal Grenada Police Force and by extension Grenada has lost a stalwart who continued to provide support and assistance to members of the force after his retirement.

He extended condolence to the family and friends of former commissioner Fitzroy Bedeau.
