The Fire Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force RGPF has enhanced its firefighting gear through support from Grenlec.
This was made possible through a Grenlec Community Partnership Initiative (GCPI), which supports organizations by providing grant funding for specific programs and needs that have been identified.
The equipment handed over to the fire department included nozzles, hoses, multi-purpose saws, firefighting gloves and rescue blades.
Grenlec’s Acting General Manager is Clive Hosten.
Chairman Dr. Shawn Charles, in his presentation, made note that the fire department reflects GRENLEC’s five core principles.
Acting Commissioner of Police, Michael Francois accepted the equipment on behalf on the RGPF.
The areas of focus of the Grenlec Community Partnership Initiative were projects that addressed education, the environment, energy, social services, COVID-19 relief and technology.
