One woman is creating history for Grenada, being chosen out of over one hundred thousand entrepreneurs from around the world.

The entrepreneurship world cup (EWC) is an international competition organized by the Misk World Forum in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network.

It is for entrepreneurs from all over the world with different kinds of start-ups, whether in the initial, idea, or growth stage.

Only two applicants are chosen from each region.

The Grenadian entrepreneur Marcella Jeremiah, owner of Renée Sensationz is one of the ten finalists for this years’ Entrepreneurship World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 12-14th.

Marcella is a local producer of candles, bath and body aromatherapy products.

She was selected from a pool of one hundred thousand entrepreneurs and will participate in the global finals in Saudi Arabia where she will present a pitch to world class judges and investors.

Marcella tells GBN that she learned about the World Cup for entrepreneurs through Facebook.

The entrepreneur says she was surprised that she was chosen from among so many however Marcella is confident that her products can speak for themselves.

She is ecstatic to learn more about business, marketing and finances and was happy to participate in the virtual training provided in the lead up to the global finals.

From November 9-10th Marcela will also take part in the EWC Pitch and Investor Bootcamp in order to refine her pitch for the global finals.

The Communal Co-operative Credit Union has come on board to lend financial and technical support to Marcella who is a member. Manager of the Communal, Lydia Francis made a presentation to Marcella at her home this morning.

The 118 winners each year receive three major global awards for entrepreneurs in stages of idea and growth, 15 awards in the global finalist stage that will include awards to social and industry-specific companies, and finally 100 national awards.
