Engagement with Fisher folk, to plan the way for the advancement of the Blue Economy.
Fishermen, vendors and technical officers are among the stakeholders playing a critical role in developing Grenada’s ‘blue economy.’
During the past week, the Ministry of Agriculture & Lands, Fisheries & Cooperatives, has been engaging with these stakeholders.
Many were the concerns expressed by fisher folk both in St. John and St. Andrew.
Minister for Agriculture & Lands, Fisheries & Cooperatives Senator Adrian Thomas says, the consultation gave the ministry a consensus of the concerns, challenges and accomplishments within the sector; as well as the potential role that Government can play in improving opportunities for fisher folks and providing technical support.
The ministry looks forward to greater collaboration with sector stakeholders and promises concrete actions that are expected to improve the sector and support the lives and livelihoods of the fisher folks and their dependents.
