Thursday’s episode of ECCB Digital Dialogues, hosted by Timothy N. J. Antoine, Governor of the ECCB, focused on the “Pandemic and Health Care”. The Dialogue explored pre-existing and emerging health priorities in the Caribbean region.

Though Covid19 took up precedence over the last year there still remain other challenges and health risks in the region.

Other health issues will remain a challenge long after the COVID-19 pandemic is over.

Head of the Human and Social Division at the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Commission, Dr Carlene Radix says no health system was prepared for the pandemic but due to international news, regional systems were in a better position when the pandemic reached the Caribbean.

Founder of EarthMedic and EarthNurse Foundation and former Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), Dr James Hospedales says regional priorities should be placed on two building blocks of a healthy economy. The ECCB Digital Dialogues serves as an avenue for stimulating public discourse and building regional solidarity in response to the threats and opportunities presented by the pandemic.
