Grenada Tourism Authority facilitated a four day drumming workshop for students of Petite Martinique RC.
The lessons were conducted by Livingston Nelson founder of Tivoli Drummers.
Over 20 students at the Petite Martinique R.C were afforded the opportunity to learn to play the big drums and other musical instruments, by manager of Tivoli Drummers, Livingston Nelson.
Nelson said while he has conducted several drumming workshops on the mainland, this is the first in Petite Martinique and the students are excited, as the sister isle was once home of the big drums.
He is hopeful however that the students will be able to showcase their skills at the upcoming maroon and string band festival carded for April in Carriacou.
Nelson added that during the four day workshop the students displayed both patience and excitement about learning to play the drums.
He added that someone has been understudying him to ensure the continuation of the drum lessons.
