The driver of the minibus that plunged into the Carenage waters just over a week ago is now on bail.
Police arrested and charged 44-year old Kim Tobin of River Road, St George with causing death by reckless driving.
Tobin made his first court appearance on Monday at the St George’s Magistrate Court and was placed on $50,000 bail with two sureties
The number two minibus with the registration number HP 148 is said to have lost control on Young Street.
The accident resulted in the death of 62 year old Altrice Theresa De Coteau of White Gate St John and the hospitalization of several others.
At the time of the accident at least 15 passengers were aboard the bus traversing the Springs, Woodlands, and Woburn route.
The horrific scene was witnessed by several pedestrians, some of whom rushed to rescue the passengers.
The Royal Grenada Police Force has since recognized 11 individuals for their role in the rescue efforts with commendation plaques and certificates for their act of humanity.
Tobin will make his next court appearance on October 29. He was ordered to surrender his travel documents and to report to Central Police Station twice a week.
