President General of the Technical and Allied Workers Union, Andre Lewis says government’s proposal to public workers unions to defer a 4% salary increase is just a ploy by the Keith Mitchell ruling administration to stall until closer to the next general election
A call-in guest to GBN’s Beyond the Headlines programme Monday night, Lewis who represents trade unions in the Senate
He said government’s excuse to not send a cadre of teachers to the T A Marryshow Community College citing cash shortage is a set up ; while pushing Imani’s to fill certain positions is all part of government’s ploy to put in place replacement teachers.
Lewis further strengthened his point by urging his colleagues to decline government deferral proposal as government he says can find the money to pay teachers their 4% salary increase.
