Chair of Grenada’s Covid19 committee Dr. Bert Brathwaite has expressed disappointment with the sudden lack of interest in taking the Covid-19 vaccine by Grenadians.
During the first few days of vaccination on the island, people had turned out in their hundreds to get the vaccine.
Despite the negative press that surrounded the AstraZeneca vaccine, many frontline workers showed up during the first week.
Dr. Brathwaite says at present, the momentum has sharply declined.
The Chair said he believes this level of relaxation displayed is due to the low number of recorded Covid19 cases on the island since the virus first arrived at our shores.
So far over eleven thousand, five hundred individuals have received their first dose of the vaccine.
Nearly two hundred have received their second dose.
To date, we have three active cases of covid-19 all in self-isolation and 250 in quarantine facilities.
