Fifteen Cuban nationals have joined the medical team at the general hospital, in a bid to improve the current health services in Grenada.

The group includes doctors, nurses, engineers, and lab technicians.

Dr. Carol Mc Intosh, director of hospital services welcomed the team and highlighted how covid19 has bolstered the need for collaborative efforts throughout all sectors, especially healthcare.

Permanent secretary with responsibility for community and hospital services Hannah Julien St Paul, says this new addition to the medical team is welcomed, as the hospital has always needed additional hands.

This is not the first collaboration between the two countries as Grenada and Cuba have had years of relationships, through which many Grenadians have been trained in specialty areas.
