One new case of covid 19 recorded on Friday. This brings the total number of positive cases on island to four.

This one additional case is an imported case.

Three of the four covid-19 cases remain in home isolation pending results. Samples were sent off to CARPHA out of caution that the new cases could be one of the new variants.

These results according to the CMO could take another week.

To date, six thousand seven hundred and eighty persons have been vaccinated in the past two weeks.

However, it appears that persons in the medical field are still skeptical about getting their covid-19 vaccine, based on concerns expressed to our news team.

The CMO reminded GBN that the vaccines are offered voluntarily.

During the past two weeks, Grenada has received approximately twenty-three thousand doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines.

Vaccination continues the CMO says and is available for persons eighteen years and over and people with underlying health conditions.

Vaccination continues at the Radisson Resort and Grand Bra medical Station. On Tuesday the process will be rolled out at the St David’s Health Center and the Bruce Street mall in St. George.
