14 students were the recipients of the Rodney Mauricette Memorial Scholarship Award ceremony, an initiative by the Communal Cooperative Credit Union.
The youngsters were encouraged to remain focused and steadfast in their quest to achieve academic excellence.
The Communal Cooperative Credit Union on Monday awarded 14 form 1 students with 6 scholarships and 8 grants, through the Rodney Mauricette Memorial Scholarship award.
This annual initiative provides financial support to the students for the 5 years of their secondary school life.
Shawnna Thomas Cuffie, a representative from the Ministry of Education told the awardees that challenges may be faced; however change is important in this transition phase.
First recipient of the Rodney Mauricette memorial scholarship and president of the Communal Cooperative Credit Union Jusceno Jacob said the scholarship program means a great deal to the organization and looks forward to continued assistance in the next academic year.
