With the procurement of four new ambulances, the ministry of health is set to implement a centralized system for emergency reporting.
Minister of health, social security and international business, Nickolas Steele, announced to the House of Parliament that this system will be implemented in the first quarter of 2018.
Collaborating with government on this initiative are St. George’s University, GRENLEC, and the Maria Holders Memorial Trust.
Delivering on the achievements of his ministry during the debate on the 2018 estimates of revenue and expenditure, minister Steele says the emergency hotline will be 434.
Minister Steele spoke of other collaboration with the St. George University that will help improve the standard of healthcare on the island.
