Grenada’s economic performance in 2018 was lauded by the Caribbean Development Bank.
At the Bank’s annual news conference on Thursday, it says Grenada’s continues to lead regional performance with 5.2%, continuing on a five-year positive trend, as the country continues to experience the financial growth coming out of its home-grown economic reform programme.
Grenada is among other regional countries that have been noted as the fastest growing economies.
The other countries are Antigua and Guyana.
CDB President Dr. Warren Smith says this performance should be celebrated.
The president outlined that the majority of the bank’s borrowing members recorded economic growth averaging 1.9%, compared with 0.5% in 2017.
The regional economy he added is expected to grow by 2% in 2019.
