Officials from the ministry of youth, sports & culture have left the mainland for Carriacou and Petite Martinique on a mission to discuss pertinent issues that are affecting the sister isle in the sector and determine how to chart the way forward.
A Team from the Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture left Grenada to travel to Carriacou and Petite Martinique on Wednesday 14 September.
The trip seeks to provide a platform for the Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture on the mainland and Carriacou, together with the Ministry of Carriacou & Petite Martinique Affairs & Local Government, to discuss varying issues of mutual interest and also forge a path forward.
Permanent Secretary Norman Gilbert, said the engagement is in line with Government’s transformation agenda.
Minister for Youth, Sports & Culture, Ron Redhead, will later join the team of five on the sister isle.
Some of the activities planned include a meeting with senior coaches and coaching staff, a leadership and mentorship workshop, a meeting with groundsmen, a visit to all playing fields on the sister isles, and a Youth Symposium
Gilbert said the trip is of immense importance.
The team will return to Grenada on Monday 19th September 2022.
