The Bacol legal action against Trinidad and Tobago for alleged discrimination against non-nationals in protecting the funds of some policyholders of CI Financial (British American-Baico) has taken its first official steps to commence proceedings.
A three-member panel of judges of the Caribbean court of justice on Wednesday virtually heard the matter as the applicants are seeking special leave in order for the hearing to continue.
Following the initial proceedings, a date has been whereby the CCJ will decide whether a legal hearing will commence.
