Education officials met with China scholarship awardees who are awaiting confirmation of their travel date to begin or continue their studies.
The covid 19 pandemic resulted in their delay to travel to China, but the 20 students met with Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Norman Gilbert last Friday
There are two cohorts of students awaiting departure to China for the period 2020 and 2021. The 2020 batch of 11 students has already started their classes online.
The students were encouraged to get familiar with the Chinese language by taking classes at the T.A. Marryshow Community College in preparation for the trip.
