Drinking alcohol does not protect people from getting the corona virus; instead experts at the pan American health organisation warn it may have negative effects that may worsen health conditions that can lead to death.
Drug avoidance officer Dave Alexander who has been meeting with officials of PAHO on the issue says consumption of alcohol during the Covid-19 lock-down can also lead to risky behaviour, violence and mental issues.
