Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell is one of the influential figures in the formation of a global mission on an Adaptation Flagship Commission.
Grenada is one of nineteen countries to form this commission, which was recently launched in Washington DC at the World Bank.
That’s according to minister with responsibility for climate change, Senator Simon Stiell.
Senator Stiell stressed the importance of this commission in bringing attention to the need of vulnerable states such as Grenada, to adapt whether it is areas for food security, water security, infrastructure or building resilience.
Senator Stiell went on to add that this spans beyond just a report, as this will see Prime Minister Mitchell attending the launch of “The Year of Action” before this months’ end.
The Prime Minister will also later this month lead a delegation to the United Nations Secretary General Summit, with a focus on pushing Grenada’s climate change agenda.
