Several of Grenada’s regional counterparts have used the covid-19 lockdown to invest heavily in agriculture in the absence of the tourism sector.

However, local Grenadian farmers are feeling begrudged by the treatment received from government and the apparent lack of financial support and subsidies.

The poultry policy now delayed by the pandemic is now lending assistance from fellow countries that have already pioneered such policies for their agriculture sector.

President of Grenada association of poultry producers Jason Phillip is making a clarion call for deeper and more meaningful budgetary allocation towards agriculture.
