The Royal Grenada Police Force pledges emotional support to the family of Kimon Bell, the young man who lost his life in the boat incident involving the coast guard on Sunday.
Assistant Superintendent at the Community Relations Department Desmond Richards pledges to lend emotional support to the family of 22-year-old Kimon Bell of Woburn St George, while investigations are carried out into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Bell’s body was retrieved from the sea on Monday after the Coast Guard ran into a boat carrying him and another occupant on Sunday night.
ASP Richards says whether or not the officers will be placed on leave will be determined by Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin.
ASP Richards urged Grenadians to not turn to social media to make negative remarks on the ongoing investigation but to instead pray for the families involved.
The other occupant of the boat with Bell sustained minor injuries and was treated at the General Hospital and discharged.
