Grenada has secured 184 million EC dollars in approved projects under the Green Climate Fund.

This was negotiated at a recent meeting in the Republic of Korea.

Minister with responsibility for Climate Resilience, Senator Simon Stiell made the disclosure to the media at Tuesday’s post cabinet briefing.

Grenada was among six hundred representatives from developing and developed countries present at the recently held Green Climate Fund Global Programing Conference, in the Republic of Korea.

According to Climate Resilience Minister, Simon Stiell, this conference created the avenue for follow up on ongoing projects under the Green Climate Fund, one of which is the G-Cruise project.

He says the 125 million EC G-Cruise project targets building extra resilience into our water sector by capturing a larger amount of rainfall to be distributed to water deprived areas especially in the face of the extended drought and dry-periods being experienced.

It also created the opportunity through which Grenada can garner assistance from developmental partners.

Implementing Agencies GIZ and the Green Climate Fund also reported to the conference on Grenada’s progress.
